THE CHOICE: A Review

When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother, what will I be
Will I be pretty, will I be rich
Here’s what she said to me….

Have you ever wondered what will it be?

THE CHOICE belongs to you…. And the rest belongs to God.

The musical play where talented artists have come together to finished one such meaningful act. They also face different choices in their lives.

The casts and ensembles of The Choice walk different paths in their lives… from professionals to students.

The play was held at the United Evangelical Church of the Philippines (UECP) Sanctuary last September 23, 2012, Sunday. It was held on two schedules of 3:00 pm and 7:30 pm.

A week long of recitals have achieved the intended message.

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future’s not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

We face choices everyday, from how we like our coffee…

Marcus: What Kind of a choice is that?

Did Marcus, the Roman Centurion, who fell in love with the young Hannah made the right choice in following the Jewish rabbi, Jesus?

Hannah: He brought you back home.

The choice to follow God’s will and not our will…. Not a day nor in a thousand years, but for eternity…will bring us back home.

“Back Home”, a sound of love where you felt safe. A feeling that everyday is a new day.

Hannah didn’t just meant Marcus was brought back home to Capernaum, in the Marketplace, where nothing ever happens there, from Jerusalem, where everything Marcus have work for… to be a centurion to the governor, Pontius Pilate, but brought hi, home to his soul to commit…. To believe.

Asa: Those Romans left with not just our bread.

Song of Songs stated it quite clearly what Asa meant…

SHE

… I looked for the one my heart loves;….

… I will searched for the one my heart loves.

…”Have you seen the one my heart loves?”

Could he/she be the one?

Could you be the one for me?

Do you love me?

Our fate, of just a grumpy old goat, by Faith …

HE

You have my heart with one glance of your eyes…

Turn your eyes from me; they overwhelm me…

Like the love of our God

Psalm 103:11

New International Version (NIV)

For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;

John 3:16

New International Version (NIV)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Call Him Messiah…

“Not for miracles, but for loving me”, in the song “I Choose Jesus” towards the end of this greatest musical play by Robert and Cindy Sterling, is really for us because We are a People of Faith. For God love u first, not the other way around! (see Through His Eyes, A Heavenly View of Earthly Matters by Francine L. Bouwense) His love endures forever.

But it is not as the song says that: Not for Bethlehem, but for Cavalry that “Jesus paid for the penalty of your sin by dying on the cross for you.” – according to the plays program book. But actually, it’s from Bethlehem to Cavalry…this is according to the writer of this review…” events leading to the execution of Jesus. (Lead Me to the Cross)

Blessed are they…who believe on the one called Messiah.

John 3:18

New International Version (NIV)

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

Yet towards the end of this powerful musical, the storyteller tells the audience “still many do not beleive.”

Marcus made HIS CHOICE already…

What is YOUR CHOICE?
